At times, God may seem stern, distant, indifferent, or even uninvolved in our lives. This perception often arises when we compartmentalize our activities into sacred and secular realms. However, the undeniable truth is that God is always intimately close, compassionate, and deeply engaged with us. His heart brims with love for us, and His benevolent gaze never wavers. The Bible abounds with verses that affirm God’s constant presence alongside us. Moreover, the gospel of Jesus Christ vividly illustrates God’s desire to reside within us and work through us. As believers, we share a profound unity with God. In today’s episode, Ross O’Hair and Mark Fields discuss the concept of God’s immediacy – His presence in every circumstance and every moment. They explore how embracing this truth can open up daily opportunities for us to foster a deeper relationship with God in our everyday actions.
Verses:
Joshua 1:9 – “…Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged for the Lord our God will be with you wherever you go.”
Matthew 28:20 – “teaching them to follow all that I commanded you; and behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Psalm 139:1-10 – ” O LORD, You have searched me and known me. You know when I sit down and when I rise up; You understand my thoughts from afar. You scrutinize my path and my lying down, and are intimately acquainted with all my ways. Even before there is a word on my tongue, behold, O LORD, You know it all. You have enclosed me behind and before, and laid Your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is too high, I cannot attain to it. Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend to heaven, You are there. If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the dawn, If I dwell in the remotest part of the sea, even there Your hand will lead me, and Your right hand will lay hold of me.”

I liked how Mark brought about how to mix secular life w scared life. Jesus is part of his everyday secular life.
I know many want to separate “ church life” from everyday secular life. Mark shows Jesus is with us everyday and every moment of our lives. Jesus wants an intimate relationship with us.
